Warm tips
1. Walk on flat ground,elbows at 90° is the appropriate height
2. shorten the poles when walking up the mountain to better support your body weight
3. Extend the poles properly when going downhill to reduce the pressure on the joints
4. When walking sideways,the two poles should be of different lengths to suit the terrain
Trekking poles come as standard equipment for many walkers, hikers, trekkers, backpackers and snowshoers. It increases your stability and provides support on a variety of terrain. Trekking poles will not reduce your overall energy expenditure as they will use your arms more than they would without crutches and do help distribute your energy use to help your hiking endurance.
